“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words and tongue but with actions and truth.” (1 John 3:16-18)
We are so thankful to have received this testimony from our co-laborers in the DRCongo. On March 18th, they presented the gospel to the students and teachers at the Mont Goma school. 567 people attended and 43 accepted Jesus Christ and are now secure with their eternal life.
Let me level the playing field. My wife and I have been involved in the ministry in the DRCongo and other neighboring countries for 15 years. We know that our brothers and sisters face trials, suffering, persecution and make sacrifices every day to advance the gospel. There is the ever present threat and reality of little or no food to eat, dirty contaminated water, diseases such as typhoid and malaria with no medicine, no treatment and no hospitals, government instability and violence and the reality of constant life threatening attacks from Muslims to witchdoctors. Death is an everyday reality and companion.
God has been enlarging our territory as we witness more people coming to salvation, existing church families strengthened and new church families starting in the USA, Mexico, Central America and in central Africa. We are blessed to have been born and to live in a country in which we have the freedom to practice our religion as well as the opportunity to prosper. Harvest Vision Ministries is in partnership with men and women who suffer unbearable conditions to carry the good news of Jesus to desolate places and it is an honor to be able to support these men and women through this ministry. We need your help. You are an important and critical part of His plan and your faithfulness in providing prayer and financial support help us fulfill our God-given vision.
In Love and Service to our Savior, Lord and King, Jesus Christ,
Your servants and His friends,
George & Linda Henson
