We have been blessed to help start the Harvest Doves primary school in Kayunga, Uganda. The property was purchased but the actual construction for the building has not started because we were waiting for the final estimate. In the interim, the new church building was constructed which left the old building. There was much interest in starting the school for this term, so Pr. Charles approached the District Education Officer and received permission to make some improvements to the older building, including a proper toilet and the school could begin on the agreement the new building would be available by the end of the year. Textbooks were bought by the Harvest Kids from the USA and 80 students are enrolled and teachers available. 25 students are Christian, 35 Muslims and 20 unconfirmed. We are excited about this door that God has opened for us. Unexpectedly, the District Education Officer, under some pressure, visited and has changed the agreement and is now demanding that construction begins within four weeks or they will shut down the school. The budget for the 2 classrooms and office for 45 students in each class is $13,590: building $4,110, roof $3,900, doors and windows $1,780 and plaster $3,800. We would appreciate your prayers and consideration.
