Often times we are asked whenever someone hears the testimonies of the many people that are coming to faith during the outreaches in central Africa: “How do you disciple them?”
The simple answer is: “The will to win is useless without the will to prepare.”
In August of 2019, leaders from Harvest Vision in Africa met with local pastors in the city of Masaka and began training them and their congregations on the discipling of new believers until they are in a local church fellowship.
Three months later, in November, believers from different Harvest Vision fellowships came to accompany these pastors and believers in door-to-door ministry for 5 days.
Over 8,000 people accepted Jesus and were in the care of the local pastors and believers. In January of this year, they began the same ministry with 65 pastors of local church families in the Luka District, close to Iganga.
Last week 142 believers from different Harvest Vision fellowships traveled to Luka and went door-to-door with the pastors and believers from Monday to Friday and left the 4,432 new believers to be discipled by those church families. They are preparing for the next location in June. The work of the five-fold ministry is described in Ephesians 4:11-16.
We respectfully submit to the leading of the five-fold ministry because it accomplishes the work that God has called us to do.
