Mexico & Central America News, January, 2020

It is always a blessing to hear the testimonies of the many different ways in which our coordinators, Miguel and Olivia, in San Luis in Sonora in north Mexico and our coordinators, Obed and Suri in Apatzingan in Michoacan in south central Mexico, help the Christian community reach the lost and help teach the found in their areas. A confirmation of their obedience to fulfill their calling to “prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:12-13) They work diligently to keep the worship trailer, van, sewing ministry and fellowship center available to whoever may need them for their kingdom work. We are thankful for the encouragement and provisions they are able to give to those doing feeding, clothing and other outreach ministry to those in cardboard city, the prison and local alcohol and drug rehabs. Whether it is delivering sanitary supplies to an elderly neighbor who cares for her middle-aged, wheel-chair bound daughter, to arranging to send children’s books from a ministry in the USA to a small school in the middle of Mexico, purchasing a set of sound equipment for the church fellowship in the women’s federal prison, preparing the baptismal in the fellowship center for a local church family to use or helping with a fundraiser for a family that is in need or has experienced a recent tragedy – those that “hope in the Lord will renew their strength and soar on wings like eagles”. (Isaiah 40:31) On February 17th, Miguel and Olivia will be traveling to Michoacan to visit and encourage Pr. Obed and his family. We are hoping to build relationships with Christians in the other southern states of Mexico so they may encourage and help one another in reaching the lost in their communities. After their visit to Michoacan, they will travel to El Salvador to meet with George and Noe from Washington. They will be encouraging our friend and new coordinator in El Salvador, Pr. Sergio Cortez, before returning home. Noe will stay to begin establishing relationships with the Christian community in Honduras prior to coming home on March 6th. Please pray for God’s continued provision as He fulfills His promise as we seek to: “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.” (Isaiah 54:2)
