USA – Harvest Kids, June 25, 2022

“A friend’s a friend forever if the Lord is Lord of them.”

I couldn’t help thinking about the words of that song as I drove Clara and her friend from Granite Falls to Sedro Woolley for Harvest Kids this morning.

There wasn’t a moment of silence.

Many thanks to the adults that come to help disciple

these young believers and help with crushing the cans

that our different donors give to help the kids

meet the needs of vulnerable children in Africa.

We spent a moment looking at some of the children that are meeting under a tree for school.

The Harvest Kids have been able to provide a building for these children

and are making a difference in their lives.

The kids counted $480 that they and their donors have

provided for the 6th & 7th-grade classrooms they are trying to finish building in Africa.

They only need $1,520 to finish the foundation and get the bricks for the school.

Next the Harvest Kids will raise the money for the roof, windows and doors.

We were blessed with Odette who comes every Saturday and leads us in worship.

Later, I asked Clara why Dawson and her talk so much.

She said, “It is because we are best friends.”

We read From Exodus 33:11,

“And God talked to Moses, face to face, just like a man would talk to a friend.”

It gave us an opportunity to talk with them about how God

would like us to communicate with Him.

After lunch, the kids picked strawberries for the celebration of everyone

that had a birthday in June

and

Mama Linda supplied a cup of chocolate syrup for the dipping.

Dale read the story of Peter and the disciples’ last fishing trip.

They fished all night and didn’t catch anything,

then Jesus appeared on the shore

and told them to put the net down on the right side of the boat.

The nets were miraculously filled with fish.

The kids followed along in their own bibles

and colored the picture in their coloring book as everyone discussed the miracle.

We spent some time talking about the next Harvest Kids.

We will be decorating the float for the July 4th parade in Sedro Woolley.

We also reminded everyone about the

Child’s Evangelism Fellowship 5-day club

that will be at the

Garden of Eden, 14799 Avon Allen Rd in Mt. Vernon,

Mon-Fri, July 11-15 from 12:30-2 pm.

We are praying for a wonderful outreach at the parade.

Afterward, we stopped at the Garden of Eden petting zoo in Mt. Vernon

for the kids to spend some time with their 4-legged friends.
