What a blessing to welcome some new young people to Harvest Kids as we think about the meaning of Easter – “For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son”.
We recently recycled 450# of aluminum cans and that $75 will be sent to Africa to help vulnerable children this week. The kids crushed the cans that people had donated and we showed a video of the kinds of projects the Harvest Kids help within Africa. Pr. Martin had contacted us and asked the kids if they could donate the money needed to purchase textbooks for a new primary school starting in Uganda in June.
Thanks to everyone that donated their change that these young people used to fill up their collection “bullet” that ended up weighing 50#. We are confident that will be enough for the kid’s books.
Linda shared about how we are planting “starts” that will later be moved out to one of the garden projects and while the kids were eating lunch Wayne shared an Easter message.
At the last Harvest Kids gathering, everyone met “Dove” the new Harvest Rabbit. Today they were able to put handprints on her new home and then move her in.
Afterward, Wayne continued his Easter message around the fire that Linda built for the kids to roast marshmallows.
After our regular fellowship, we drove to the Garden of Eden family ministry in west Mt. Vernon and set up for an afternoon of bingo hosted by these young people.
We were blessed to have clothes and other items that had been donated arrive at the same time, and as the bingo game went on, the clothes were sorted so they could be given to our friends that live on the streets, either directly or through the Friendship House.
We were also able to make up bags of items, including toiletries and snacks, that will also be available to be given to them, along with fellowship and prayers.
Somehow, in the midst of this busyness, Armando helped Linda finish planting onions in the garden. What better message to not only hear but to witness for these new young believers –
